SonShine Child Care is conveniently located in the heart of Manlius on peaceful Pleasant Street, in the historic old Manlius High School building. SonShine is a Christian child care open Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM until 5:30 PM. We endeavor to meet the emotional, social, mental and physical needs of each child, as well as his or her spiritual needs. We have our own Children’s Chaplain, Debbie Mingolelli. The children call her "Mrs. M." She meets with the children in small groups twice a week and shares Bible stories and songs with them.
We also have a resident Grandmother, Millie Skinner, who ministers to the children with Mrs M. and prays with them. Our day care is one of the longest running centers in the area. We have been in child care ministry for over 24 years. We are also happy to provide infant care for babies 6 weeks old or older. Our staff has a wealth of experience, with the average being over 4 years per staffer.
SonShine’s rooms are wonderfully large, giving our children lots of space to move around in. We have three spacious Large Motor Area Playgrounds – each age group has their own large, well-equipped playground, a Gym and Bike Room (indoor area to run, ride tricycles, use a jungle gym & ride toy horses). Children are provided with a complete hot breakfast, lunch and 2 healthy snacks.
We are in the Fayetteville-Manlius school district. If you wish, you may leave your child with us as early as 6:30 AM, and we will make sure that your child has breakfast and gets on the F-M school bus. After school we will meet your child as they leave the school bus and escort them inside for a snack and other activities.
Those of you who live in Cazenovia and commute to work in Syracuse please note that we may be just a block or two off your morning commute. We are located one block from Route 92 and two blocks from Route 173. Do you need directions?
SonShine Child Care Center has completed lead testing on all of their infant and toddler toys and equipment. We used a standard lead level count more stringent than that of the Health Department and removed all toys and equipment that did not meet those requirements. In addition, we are no longer accepting donations of toys or equipment unless they are certified lead free.
We are licensed by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services, and are members of the Child Care Council of Onondaga County and the Onondaga County Chamber of Commerce. A Security System closely monitors people entering the building (camera, monitor, bell signal, sign-in procedures and full time Receptionists).
SonShine maintains an Open Door Policy and encourages parents to call, or visit their child anytime while here.
